Academic Results
Since 2015, the state of California has been using the California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) system to measure student achievement on California’s academic standards in English language arts/literacy and mathematics. Every year, students in grades 3-8 and 11 take the Smarter Balanced Assessment Consortium (SBAC) Summative Assessment exams in English Language Arts and Mathematics. The scores on English Language Arts and Mathematics SBAC exams help identify students who are considered “college-ready”. Since 2018, the California Science Test has been operational for students in grades 5, 8, and 11.
In response to COVID-19, the state suspended all standardized testing for the 2019-20 academic year and will not publish a dashboard in December.
