Student Life

Students attending Making Waves Academy (MWA) are referred to as “Wave-Makers”. Entering MWA through the lottery in fifth grade, students begin with us in the middle school. Upon successful promotion from the eighth grade, students continue in the upper school starting in ninth grade.

Student life in the middle school and upper school are distinct. They each have age-appropriate activities while sharing some common features such as regularly scheduled community building time, Casual and Professional Dress Days, Saturday Academy, semester finals (except for 5th grade) and spirit week.
